Overview
The TRX Islamic Community Centre (TICC) was built as part of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to provide a place of worship for the TRX community and surrounding residents. Designed by GDP Architects, the centre features a bright, airy, and modern aesthetic, creating a peaceful and comfortable space for prayer and reflection. The architecture emphasises minimalism, functionality, and optimal space usage, ensuring a welcoming environment for worshippers.
Participants and Targets
Initially built for construction workers, TICC has now expanded its capacity to welcome a wider audience. With the addition of a new building, it can now host up to 1,200 people, offering an air-conditioned prayer area, carpeted flooring, and improved wudhu (ablution) facilities for a more comfortable worship experience.
The facility accommodates the growing Muslim population within TRX, providing employees, workers, and visitors, with a dedicated space to perform their religious duties. Beyond a place of worship, TICC serves as a community hub, fostering unity among diverse groups. It is an inclusive space where people of different backgrounds can gather for inter-faith discussions, educational programmes, and community events.
Achievements and Outcome
TICC successfully completed its expansion in March 2025, further enhancing its ability to serve a growing congregation. The project stands as a testament to TRX’s commitment to inclusivity and community development.
