Overview
Since 2022, the TRX Ramadan CSR Programme has been an annual initiative dedicated to fostering meaningful connections with the surrounding community, reflecting TRX City’s commitment to inclusive growth and social responsibility. As Malaysia’s International Financial Centre, Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) integrates this initiative into its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework, reinforcing its role as a responsible corporate citizen.
Over the years, the programme has grown in size with more volunteers and beneficiaries. In its initial years, TRX City hosted the Majlis Berbuka Puasa Bersama TRX, an iftar event during Ramadan, where construction workers and residents are invited to break fast together. This initiative runs alongside the iftar sponsorship where meals are donated for the congregation at the TRX Islamic Community Centre.
Participants and Targets
For the annual grocery distribution, TRX partners with a retailer to provide essential grocery bags filled with staple foods such as rice, onions, cooking oil, and sugar. On average, around 500 grocery bags are distributed to the construction workers. These workers are an integral part of TRX and the district would not be standing without their hard work.
The TRX Ramadan CSR Programme brings together a diverse group of stakeholders, including TRX staff, corporate partners, construction workers, residents, and underprivileged communities. This initiative also provides an opportunity for TRX’s tenants and plot owners to participate and create a positive social impact as part of the TRX community.
Achievements and Outcome
Over the past three years, the programme has positively impacted hundreds of beneficiaries while encouraging active volunteerism among TRX staff and partners. More than just a corporate initiative, it reflects TRX’s deep commitment to supporting the community in practical and meaningful ways, ensuring that its growth benefits the people who help shape it.
